The 15th Annual San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition will return to Qualcomm Hall on Friday and Saturday, October 10 and 11, 2014 at 7pm each evening. All members of the public are invited to this exciting event.
The festival’s approach includes affordable tickets, no prizes except the opportunity to share underwater video with an appreciative audience, and a panel of independent judges who are distinguished in their fields. Videos will be projected in a High Definition format in a state of the art venue on a 30’ screen. An independent panel of distinguished judges will select the approximately 32 films to be shown during the two night event. The Masters of Ceremonies this year are Howard Hall and Michele Hall.
The first San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition was organized in 2000 by a small group who had been meeting at Chuck Nicklin’s dive shop to share information on shooting and editing underwater video. In the past dozen years, it has grown into one of the most prestigious underwater film festivals worldwide. The venue is state-of-the-art Qualcomm Hall, and last year’s event was a sellout with over 500 people each night.
Among the renowned videographers whose work has been displayed are Howard and Michele Hall, Flip Nicklin, Leandro Blanco, Terry Maas, Shawn Heinrichs, and Simon Spear.
Tickets are $15 each evening. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door, cash only. It’s best to order in advance. Tickets may also be purchased at Ocean Enterprises with cash or check only, or online by clicking here.
The address to Qualcomm Hall is 5775 Morehouse Drive, San Diego. More information can be found on the Exhibition’s website here.
